Neon Abyss 2 Characters — Neon Abyss 2 official screenshot

Neon Abyss 2 gives its playable characters their own Steam achievements, which means the roster can be listed with hard numbers instead of guesswork. Eight character unlocks are tracked: Saya, Elise, James, Xuan, R-7, Mira, Cassie and Lucia. Sorted by global unlock rate, Saya leads at 18.1% and Lucia trails at 6.0% — a threefold spread between the easiest and the hardest character to pick up. Every name, icon and percentage on this page is taken directly from the game's achievement list; nothing here is estimated.

What the numbers say

Because every unlock has its own achievement, the global unlock rate is a direct read on how far into the roster the average player gets. The drop from Saya (18.1%) to Lucia (6.0%) is the clearest signal on this page: the first three characters are essentially handed out during normal progression, while Cassie and Lucia sit behind enough playtime that most owners never reach them.

Neon Abyss 2 characters FAQ

How many characters are in Neon Abyss 2?

Steam's achievement list tracks eight character unlocks: Saya, Elise, James, Xuan, R-7, Mira, Cassie and Lucia. Each one has a dedicated unlock achievement, and the percentages on this page are the real global figures for those achievements.

Which character should I unlock first in Neon Abyss 2?

Going purely by the data, Saya is the natural first pick. At 18.1% she is the most commonly unlocked of the eight, and Elise follows at 17.3% — so most players pick up both of them early in their runs rather than late.

Who is the rarest character in Neon Abyss 2?

Lucia, at 6.0%, with Cassie just ahead on 6.5%. Both sit in the rare bracket, well below the front of the roster — they take noticeably more playtime than Saya, Elise or James.

How do you unlock characters in Neon Abyss 2?

All eight are reached through in-game progress rather than a store purchase. Steam tracks each of them with its own unlock achievement, and the exact wording of each one is quoted under the character cards above.
